Photo District News Recognizes XYZ with Awards for Collaborative Creative Retouching.
Happy Endings Project Wins Big with the PIX Digital Imaging 2006 Annual
November 30, 2006
San Francisco, CA – XYZ, the West Coast’s most dynamic independent creative retouching and post production studio, today announced that it has been honored by Photo District News’ Pix Digital Imaging 2006 Annual with two awards in the collaborative category.
“The two works that were awarded, Jason Madara’s What if He Lived and Hamin Lee’s, Old Boy were both part of Happy Endings XYZ collaborative photography project.
The artists participating in Happy Endings included Doug Adesko, Eva Kolenko, Olivier Laude, Hamin Lee, Jason Madara, Andrew Nagata, and Zen Sekizawa. Each artist adapted an end frame of a story, film, or popular culture reference, and was encouraged to twist the ending to bring a new interpretation to the story. XYZ’s digital artists worked closely with the photographers to develop and expand their image making process
“I knew going into this project that we were creating something special,” said Jason Madara, Photographer. “Collaborating with such a talented creative team really made me look at my whole post production process, now I am using XYZ for almost all it. Overall it was a great experience.”
